Lynn Renée Sanguedolce is a fine artist specializing in representational art based on her observations of nature.  Working primarily in oil, she creates paintings that combine tonal and impressionistic influences.

Lynn is a native of New Jersey, born into an artistic family.  She began her formal education at Carnegie Mellon University, continuing her early studies at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.  Throughout her career, she has continued to attend workshops, schools, and to receive private instruction, honing her skills based on traditional, academic principles and techniques.

Lynn’s intense passion has led her to study deeply the art and philosophy of the great masters - Rembrandt, Velazquez, Bastien-LePage and Inness.  The Barbizon School has always been of particular interest to her, as well as the art movements and schools that it inspired, among these Naturalism and Tonalism.  The inspiration for Lynn’s work stems from her deep appreciation for the beauty of nature and her passion for art of the past.  Over the years, Lynn has acquired a substantial library of reference on artists and art schools ranging from the 17th century to the 20th century.  Studying these books, reading the words of beloved authors and poets, and enjoying music, also serve to connect her to the deeper meaning of art and nature, in much the same way as masters of the past became inspired.

During the 1980’s, Lynn had a successful career as an illustrator for clients that included, among others, Reader’s Digest.  By 1990, her focus had shifted from watercolor illustration to fine art, with an emphasis on plein air landscape painting and figurative pieces.  She has been represented by various galleries in the United States and her paintings are in many collections throughout the U.S. and abroad.  Lynn lives in Southern California with her husband and their two children.
